Download Festival 2017 took place between 9th-11th June 2017, with early access from Wednesday 7th.

The Headline Acts were:

  • System of a Down
  • Biffy Clyro
  • Aerosmith

Below is my Vlog from the festival, if you’re interested. It’s full of camping shenanigans and general festival silliness.

This was the first music festival that I went to with my Girlfriend, Esther.

This is us at the campsite, hanging out and having fun.

But before we talk about the festival, let’s discuss the build-up!

The Prep

This was the year I really got back into making YouTube videos about festivals.

After Download Festival 2015, I ended up in a long depression, which left me uninterested in making videos.

But this year, I was excited for it again, so I made loads of them, and Est was in some too!

The Festival – Camping

The festival itself went really well and I had a great time. As we all know, one of the best bits of a festival is the campsite and the people!

I went with Esther, and Steve and Nick, who we also went to Download Festival with last year.

By this point, we had a festival crew for every year, which is pretty cool!

We also hung out with another YouTuber who makes festival content: Serena!

This is us hanging out briefly before she ran off with her friends.

One of the best bits of a festival for me is the campsite and just hanging out with some friends.

One of the best bits of this festival was hanging out at camp, drinking and chatting, and going to bed at dawn.

The Festival – Music

The line-up for Download Festival this year was really strong, and full of bands I was excited for!

Some highlights of the festival for me were:

  • System of a Down
  • A Day To Remember
  • Rob Zombie
  • Suicidal Tendencies
  • The King Blues

I even managed to get a selfie with a fan of my YouTube channel in the pit for A Day To Remember!

The absolute highlight however was The King Blues, who I adore!

They are a punk indie band . It’s light punk, with ukeles and poetry. Its great.

And a great spot for it!

If I had to choose a low point for the bands, it was Wednesday 13.

I love the band, but this was after they had an image change and became much darker and heavier. Plus the tent they were in was so packed that I couldn’t even get a look in.

Sum Up

Download Festivsal 2017 was incredible, and I had a blast!

Honestly it was one of the best festivals I have ever been to.

My previous festival was Download Festival 2016.

My next festival was Leeds Festival 2017.
