This festival was held between June 6th and June 6th 2019.
The headline bands were:
- Def Leppard
- Slipknot
- Tool
I made a Vlog of this year, which you can watch below!
Personal Opinion
This year was an odd line-up, but still very enjoyable!
Tool made sense, as they had a new album out (after the festival, but still).
Def Leppard hadn’t played in a few years, but I didn’t realise they still were a huge draw.
Slipknot also had an album out in 2019, but they played Download a few years ago, so that was maybe a little unimaginative.
BUT it was still a very good year, and that’s all the matters!
The Festival
This yeah, as usual, I went with my girlfriend, Esther, and camped with our festival buds: Nick and Steve.
The weather this year was… not great.
It rained pretty consistently for five days. Didn’t stop the good times though!
Rain before the festival left waterlogged fields, followed by torrential rain for 3 days!
As you can see below, the arena was not spared the brown fate!
It was described as a giant mud bath, but honestly I still think i’ve seen it look worse.
This year I finally met another YouTuber who specialises in Music Festival content: Matt Bacon!
He is beyond a lovely guy! We wandered over to his camp and we chatted and drank for a few hours and had a generally great time.
The highlight of the entire festival for me was the Ska music.
My favourite band ever, Reel Big Fish (below) played.
They were excellent, as always!
I also finally saw a new ska band that I adore: The Interrupters!
They were also fantastic, and I don’t often say this, but they may have been better live than recorded.
Wrap Up
Overall, this festival was wet, muddy, tiring, and fantastic!
I saw a lot of great bands, had a blast and even through the wet and the mud, we kept on smiling!
My previous festival was Download Festival 2018.
